Wall: Blue
An approximately 1,200-pound wall was mortared into the center of the space and faced with colored acrylic sheet. A QR code was affixed to the lower right corner of each surrounding wall, linking viewers to minimally edited, looped videos of the sky filmed from a single point on a large hill in an empty lot outside downtown San Jose. Each QR code corresponded to the cameraโs orientation: North, East, South, and West.
The work proposes that the wall is installed not into the physical space where the videos were shot, but into an idea of that place reached through a series of portals. It creates an abstracted digital realm of place without physical space that paradoxically cannot exist without a physical anchor, in this case both the wall and the body as wall. The wall was ultimately demolished for removal. 2013
