Wall: Green

Playing off the existing concrete forms in the vacant lot, a cinderblock wall was mortared into place over the course of a weekend. A reclaimed green acrylic square was affixed to its front. During the following year, the wall was vandalized, graffitied, graffitied again, and finally painted over by the City of San Jose in an attempt to clean up the lot. At what point did the wall cease to be an intrusive addition and become part of the existing urban landscape? 2013–2014
